A Message from Mike Tidwell

Welcome to our "Big Day in May"!   If you are a visitor we want you to know that you are our honored guest and we want you to feel so.

The Big Day In May has been an annual event for Neely's Bend Church of Christ for many years...up until two years ago. The Big Day in May has always been held on the first Lord's Day in May. Do you remember what happened on May 2, 2010? Yep...the five-hundred-year flood. The Neely's Bend community was hit particularly hard by that event, as was the Big Day in May, 2010. The destruction and disappointment was great and, as a result, we did not have the Big Day in May in 2011.

So 2012 is a "new beginning" for the Big Day in May and we want to thank you from the bottom of our hearts for being a part of it!

We, at Neely's Bend Church of Christ feel, very keenly, the mission that our Lord has given to each of us. Jesus said, in Matthew 25 that we must "feed the hungry" and "clothe the naked" if we want to be welcomed into the heavenly place...and we do. Jesus also said, in Mark 16 and Matthew 28, "Go into all the world and preach..." and "Go, teach all nations, baptizing them..." We feel that we must reach out in our communities and spread the gospel of Christ, while supporting the preaching of the gospel around the world, and we do.

We hope that you will find, at Neely's Bend Church of Christ, a loving, caring, friendly and busy group of Christians. We want to say welcome and that you have an invitation to come and worship with us at any time.
