"VBS 2014"
VBS 2014 is now in the Neely's Bend Church of Christ history books. It was a great success. We had, in attendance 101 on Monday, and 98 on Tuesday and 95 on Wednesday. It was a wonderful Bible school. The subject was God Guides and Provides and it centered on Moses and the Burning Bush on Monday, the Parting of the Red Sea on Tuesday, and ended with the Ten Commandments on Wednesday, the final day.
There were so many involved in the production of this year's VBS, I wouldn't think about trying to list the names for fear that I would miss one. There were some that worked at the church building until late, night after night. There were costumes to make, sets to build, crafts to prepare, scripts to write. Then, first and foremost, there was the Bible lessons that had to be prepared for the classes.
On behalf of the elders, I just want to give big "shout out" to all those who worked so hard to make VBS 2014 a success. It could not have happened without all of you and no matter how small your role, it is truly appreciated. No work has gone unnoticed.
I always feel good about VBS. It is an opportunity to make children the center of attention and Bible teaching. It has been said, so many times, "One of the problems in the church today is that we are not teaching the Bible to our young people." Well, last week, the Bible was taught. In the pre-class period, the puppets told them what they would be taught, then in class they were taught, and then in the after-class period it was reviewed through a dramatic skit, so it was heard three times, at least.
Let's all give a pat on the back to all those who work so that Neely's Bend Church of Christ will always remain a vibrant, growing, loving, spiritual group of Christians.
