"God Is Still
The Same God"

Do you ever doubt God's ability or willingness to bring you help in your times of distress. The three occupants of Nebuchadnezzar's fiery furnace declared that "Our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and He will deliver us from your hand, O king" (Daniel 3:17).

It was this same God who spoke the world into existence; and the universe which reaches beyond the view of the most powerful telescope. Light traveling at 186,000 miles per second takes 80,000 years to reach across our galaxy, alone. Our God is mighty!

God continues to demonstrate his capabilities as in the past and gives promises for the future. Note just a few with me:

He is able to fulfill promises. All that was promised to Abraham and Sarah were met. Solomon worded it succinctly in 1 Kings 8:56: "Blessed be the Lord, who has given rest to His people Israel, according to all that He promised. There has not failed one word of all His good promises, which He promised through His servant Moses." He promised sins completely forgiven, strength for every trial. He promised that prayer is answered and heaven awaits.

Our God is able to save completely. Yes, even the dirtiest of sinners! "He is able also to save those who come to God through Him" (Hebrews 7:25). Isaiah wrote: "But you have lovingly delivered my soul from the pit of corruption. For you have cast all my sins behind your back" (Isa. 38:17).

God is able to answer prayer. "Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us" (Ephesians 3:20). Jesus told us to "Ask and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you" (Matthew 7:7).

God can and does guide the destiny of nations. There has not been a time when guidance has been more greatly needed in our nation's history than now. God ordained civil government (Romans 13:1), and He both establishes and destroys controls. Pray for peace and guidance for our leaders. God is not limited by schemes or devices of men or Satan. God Is Still the Same God - We can rely on Him!
