"Go Ye Means Go Me"

In Mark 16:15, 16 Jesus said, "Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. He who believes and is baptized shall be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned."

This is the challenge and the responsibility that was left, not only to those disciples in the first century, but to each member of the Lord's body at any time since then. This is work that must be done, not because it is commanded, but because we care, deeply about the eternal destiny of others in our world. The responsibility is to each individual. I have a personal duty to do my part.


Our Lord gave His life for every man, woman and child that ever did or ever will set foot on this planet. Through the giving of His life He gave us hope…the hope that we might have a home, eternal in heaven one day. THIS IS GOOD NEWS! This is the gospel message and this is the message that we must take to the world.

"All the world" does not have to be India, Brazil, South Africa, etc. "All the world" is the house next door to my house. John wrote in 1 John 4:10, 11 "In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins. Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another." AMEN…loving one another implies that we care about each other's eternal destiny.

Implicit in "going into all the world" is telling that "GOOD NEWS" of Jesus and His great sacrifice for each of us. When one has good news to tell he or she loves nothing more than to tell it. This is the greatest news of all.

There are all kinds of ways and means of "going into all the world". People have different talents and capabilities with which they have been endowed. Some can preach, some teach classes, others can make phone calls to encourage, some write letters or cards to show sympathy, to strengthen, and to comfort others. There is a method for each Christian to accomplish this goal…have you found yours?
