"Big Day...Another Day"

I know that many are disappointed that the Big Day in May, for 2013, had to be postponed until another Big Day in 2013. The rains that have come our way this weekend were not sent to hamper our Big Day nor to dampen our spirits. We know that "He (God) makes His sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust" (Matt. 5:45). When God created the heavens and the earth, He set in motion certain laws of nature. Weather systems are a part of those laws and, as we all know, we do not get to choose the days for the rain to fall. We must always trust God to know what is best for us...and what is best for His world.

I know that we have visitors in our midst who could not have gotten the word of the cancellation of the pot-luck meal and afternoon singing and devotional. We want you to know how much we appreciate your being with us. You are truly our honored guests today and we want you to feel as such. There are so many who have supported our Big Day in May year after year, and it is you who makes this event such a great success. I want to assure each and every one that you will be notified of the new date for the Big Day. To all, we issue the warmest and most cordial invitation to come back and worship with us at Neely's Bend Church of Christ at any and all opportunities.

I know that there are some of our regular members who have invested a lot of work toward the success of the Big Day in May for 2013. That work is appreciated and has not gone unnoticed. Do not be discouraged for we know that "...in due season, we shall reap, if we do not lose heart" (Gal. 6:9)

Let's move forward, in 2013, in the full knowledge that "...all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose" (Rom. 8:28)
