For the past eleven years a team from Neely's Bend
Church of Christ has visited Cumberland View Towers the first Thursday in each month for a social with the residents.
This social consists of a devotional by Glenn Burton, a prayer from Mike Tidwell and entertainment that could be
anything from Elvis impersonator to the history of the White House China.
A handmade quilt made by the
sewing
ladies at Neely's Bend is given away each month and numbers are drawn for door prizes. Each resident receives a
small gift and refreshments are served, ice cream, cookies, chips, homemade brownies and cakes.
This program is
sponsored solely by donations from individuals. Nothing is taken from our church treasury or contributions. Our
members give of their time to work with this program and help meet the needs of the residents as well as to fulfill
our Father's instructions to help those in need.
